There will be some new things, but much remains as it was - because we, but especially you liked it so much.
As before, there is no loud live program or competitions, but again a lot of tattooing at the highest level.
Of course, your physical well-being is again well taken care of. In addition, there are some interesting things to store - for all those who do not get tattooed, but want to take a souvenir.
In the interest of sustainability and climate protection, we have decided to switch to online ticketing.
You don't have to print them out, just show the QR code of the online ticket on your cell phone at the entrance.
For each ticket sold, 0.50 € will be donated to a sustainable, regional tree planting campaign. That means: 3 tickets sold ensure that a new tree can grow!
Simply use our tickets button.
Here you can also find a list of artists who will be working during the Expo! But please check back regularly, because we will always add new entries and provide you with all the news here!
THE SINNER AND THE SAINT TATTOO
The opening party for the convention will be an art show on Thursday, September the 15th
MARY JOY SCOTT
Mary Joy is a tattoo artist from San Francisco, California. She learned to tattoo from the legendary Don Ed Hardy. These works on linen are inspired by a form of prison art known as paños (pañuelos). They are ballpoint and technical pen on antique and vintage linen.
Mary Joy uses tattoo imagery and occult motifs to reach a synthesis of hard edged and soft, vulnerable yet tough sentiment in these ephemeral and delicate pieces. Drawing on cloth mimics the tattooing process. The fabric must be stretched, the fibers of absorb the ink differently and must be adjusted to during the working process, just like human skin. The image hangs and moves with the flow of the cloth and the marking of vintage textiles is akin to placing a tattoo on virgin skin, forever leaving an indelible mark.
This is a collection of Jondix´s all time favorite illustrations on paper mixed with his new more abstract and symbolic paintings on big scrolls. Some of the creations have been done specially for this event and have never seen before. His art is difficult to categorize cause he paints as much as he tattoos and is always evolving. One important thing for Jondix is to look different from his influences and also be able to send a message from the unconscious.
HARDY YOUTH RAW DRAWINGS
The 2nd edition of the hardy youth project is a homage to the color study well known by ED HARDY,
when he established the idea of a custom tailored tattoo, which changed the industry forever.
The raw color study drawing has become its own „thing“ and combines the dynamic of a sketch with the full color of a flash painting.
It helped the customer to visualize his tattoo and the tattooer to work out the coloring/shading in advance.
Numerous world renowned tattoo artists joined to recreate this look which focuses more on power than perfection.
The themes like tiger, panther, eagle, hot stuff, dragon or the iconic rose of no man’s land are well known from Ed Hardy´s favorite iconography and were free to work with for the participating artists.
